Mr. Aristocrat: Heinz's Gentleman

The H.J. Heinz advertising figure known as Mr. Aristocrat was created in 1934 by illustrator and designer Lloyd Weed of the advertising agency Maxon Inc. Mr. Aristocrat can be seen wearing a black tuxedo, top hat, white gloves, a cane, and a monocle. Mr. Aristocrat was designed to represent the premium quality and elegance associated with Heinz products. Originally created to promote Heinz Tomato Juice, the character soon appeared on store displays, signs, clocks, juice glasses, and numerous other promotional items.
