CALIFORNIA’S DAIRY TRADITION

Four local businessmen out of Fresno, California established Producers during the Great Depression in 1932. The company was created because of the recognized demand for dairy goods at the time, distributing fresh milk to families throughout California. Reputation was built for the company by 1949 when Larry Sheday purchased a controlling interest in the business, changing operations and introducing new technology for the packaging. These innovations helped Producers take off and grow into the famous dairy company known today.

THE DAIRY BRAND THAT DIDN’T EXPIRE

Over the decades, Producers came out with more products than just milk. Ice cream, butter, cheese, cream and other dairy products were introduced into the industry, making Producers one of the largest dairy companies on the West Coast. For over 90 years and counting, Producers is still owned and operated by the Sheday family today, remaining as one of the region’s longest-lasting family-owned dairy companies. Producers continues to serve it’s community in California today, and is still purchased throughout grocery stores in the West.
